What we believe.

If you have more questions about our beliefs as a church, feel free to contact our pastor and other leadership with any questions.

  • We believe that there is one God who created the heavens and the earth. (Genesis 1:1)We believe that his nature is reflected in the trinity - the father, the son, and the holy spirit.

  • We believe that the word of God was written by men divinely inspired by God to reflect the truth of God and his plan throughout the ages. We believe that it is true and relevant to our lives today. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

  • We believe that man was created from the dust by God, and was made for fellowship with God. (Genesis 2:4-7 and 1 Corinthians 1:9) We believe that man fell from this fellowship with God by his actions in the garden of Eden and in this fallen condition is separated from God by the curse of sin into which every person is born. (Genesis 3)

  • We believe that Jesus is the son of God and that he was sent to the earth in human form, in fulfillment of the prophecies written in the word, to redeem man’s fellowship with God by giving his life as a payment for our transgressions (John 1:1-5 and John 3:16). We believe that he died and was raised to life by the power of God, that he ascended to heaven, that he has been given authority over all things, and that he is returning one day to judge the earth. (John 5:26-29)

  • We believe that salvation is found by confessing and repenting of our sins, believing in Jesus, and continuing in a walk of faith with him in life. (Romans 10:9-11) We believe that salvation is a choice of God’s grace towards us and not something that can be earned by any human action or merit (Ephesians 2:8-9). We believe that salvation bridges the separation between us and God created by sin and restores us into our original condition of fellowship with Him. (2 Corinthians 5:18-20) We also believe that when we are saved and are adopted into the family of God, He sends his holy spirit to indwell us, guide us in truth, and convict us as we walk through the journey of being made into the likeness of Christ. (John 14:26, Acts 2:38, and Ephesians 2:19-22)

  • We believe that baptism is a public statement and dedication that we are followers of Christ from that point forward. We believe that Jesus set the example of repentance and baptism when he himself was baptized by John the Baptist. (Matthew 3:13-17 and 1 Peter 3:20-22)

  • We believe that the church is the organization and communion of believers drawn together by the common goal of continued spiritual growth and commitment, and the promotion and spread of the gospel to those living in darkness. We believe that the role of the church is to disciple and equip its body to live lives of faith and pursue God’s calling on their lives. (1 Corinthians 14:26 and Hebrews 10:24-25)

  • We define sin by the descriptions of what is right and wrong in the Bible. We believe that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, that we cannot be saved by our righteousness, and that our salvation is found only in Jesus Christ. While none of us is without sin, we believe that our attitude towards the sin in our lives should be one of repentance, and that our desire should be to rid ourselves of sin and be made into the image of Christ. (1 John 1:8-9)
